One of the best purchases I ever made (or well, my parents ever made) was a leather jacket in Florence. I was lucky enough to find an unbelievable one in a market for around 125 euro which ends up being less than 200 dollars. If anyone else has been trying to find another piece to add to their leather collection for this spring, then they know that it is near impossible to find a cute one, not to mention a real one, that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. The thing about leather jackets to remember is that they're an investment. As long as you don't go purchasing one in a crazy color with a million bells and whistles it will last from year to year.
I found this one on Gap.com (picture from here) and was so pleasently surprised. I love the color and the asymmetrical zipper gives it something special without getting too crazy. It does cost $300 but as far as the other options go it seems pretty reasonable.

This one from Victorias Secret is on sale for $209 which is unbelievable! It's cropped which makes it perfect to throw on over a sundress or to dress up the summertime classic of shorts and a t-shirt!
I LOVE this one from Vince(picture from here) but it would not be a good idea right now unless I can figure out a way to pay for it in monthly installments, over the next 50 years. You can bet, however, that I'll be checking every day to see if it goes on sale!
Another good place to find leather jackets is on vintage clothing websites or in vintage clothing stores. A lot of them are really fabulous, especially some of the longer tie waist ones, and they are way less expensive for the most part!
This site has some really cute ones (along with some that are pretty scary)
